• I Need Charts

One of the most important lessons I got from ASA 105 is that I’ll need charts.  And not just a single big map, I need charts for the coastal areas I plan on peddling by, as well as areas that I may come up on

  • Central Park, New York @ 10:01 AM

Central Park at 10:01 AM Just sitting here people watching and I notice a few things:

    1. there are a lot of beautiful people in this city
    2. They look, dress, and carry themselves differently than they do on the west coast
    3. Anyone complaining/making fun of the pudgy fat americans only need to sit and people watch for a few seconds before realizing that you have to look for fat
    4. People run funny
    5. All manner two legged propulsion going on - and it doesn’t all look like too much fun

  • Beginnings

I’m not quite sure what to expect after traveling over 23,000 miles around the world.  But there is one certain thing:  Neither I nor my team will ever be the same once we’ve complete this expedition.  This is because we can’t be certain of anything… though I can say that this is just the beginning.  I can’t wait to see who I’ll meet, who I’ll become, and the things that will be accomplished on this most epic of quests.  Join me as I document every step of the way - from Humble Beginnings to Triumphant Ends.

  • The Bike Ride To and From Work

The bike ride to and from work is just about 4 miles long and save one quick hill that takes me over the 80 Freeway, it’s almost completely flat.  In my current state, an easy pedal took about 30 minutes (includes traffic and lights)

I anticipate that in about 2 weeks time, I’ll be going over the trail’s 15 MPH bike speed limit, and will be completing this trip in less than 15 minutes.

I will need to plan a longer and more difficult route in order to continue my conditioning and training.
